Shin Megami Tensei is a series of games released by Atlus. Thusfar there are three installments in the main series, an online game, and a plethora of spin-offs. The Persona series is one such spin-off and P3 is the latest installment in it.
Persona 3 puts you in the shoes of the new guy at Gekkoukan Highschool, a boarding school located somewhere in Japan. Things seem normal enough for our silent protagonist, until the clock strikes twelve. The sky turns a murky green, the moon yellow, and all technology comes to a halt. Oh, and everybody around him turns into coffins. This is the Dark Hour, the hidden hour between 12:00 and 12:01 AM, and you wish coffins were the scariest thing about it.
P3 exists somewhere between an RPG, a dating simulator, and awesome. The player takes part in battles, summoning the fierce power of Persona to combat the Shadows of the Dark Hour at night, while hanging out with his friends during the day. Your relationships affect the growth of your persona. Don't feel like going to the movies with Kenji? Don't get that power-up for his corresponding class of persona you've been wanting. But then again, if you study instead, maybe the student council president will look your way. Play your cards right and your seemingly trivial actions will become your strongest weapon.
Name: Yukari Takeba
One of the main party members, Yukari is a part of SEES -- the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad -- a club at her school dedicated to defeating shadows using the power of persona. Armed with her bow, Yukari's strengths play to magic attacks and healing; she is undoubtedly the best healer in the game. But that doesn't make her a slouch when it comes to attacking. Her wind spells and arrow shots are more than enough for her to hold her own on the front lines.
Upbeat and positive, Yukari is popular with the boys at her school but doesn't seem to be attached to any of them -- she's a bit of a prude. Brash when righteous, she can get in over her head at times and hates to admit it. Yukari may doubt herself at times and can let her fear get the better of her, but she bounces back more powerful and determined than before.
Still an average school girl when she isn't fighting for the fate of the world, Yukari doesn't put up with Junpei's teasing without ribbing him back -- "Stupei" is something I think he'll be living with for his life. She's more than the archetypal "perky girl" character -- she's down to earth, high school spunk and doesn't let the boys get away with all the witty one-liners.
