Toru is a ten-year-old in Michiru Tajima's fourth-grade classroom. Rumor has it he has a perfect record and we know he enjoys playing "The World" with other children from his class. Maybe a little too much, if you're a regular viewer of Online Jack.

Why log on?

As you've probably put together by now, Toru is a ten-year-old who enjoys playing a young, attractive, and eloquent character in "The World". He does such a good job at it that none of the other players seem to suspect he isn't the age he appears; I doubt he would have so many followers if they did. Sakaki appears graceful with his words, mature, and a balance of kindness and ruthlessness. He is respected by many and treats those around him with consideration and respect equally. Unless, of course, they are an unapologetic PKer.

In other words, he is an intellectually bright but emotionally immature young boy's righteous dream. I mean, really, what ten-year-old wouldn't get beat up on the playground for calling people "scum"? Or at the very least, laughed at.

But under the guise of a charismatic young man bearing an uncanny resemblance to nobility Toru's words are beautiful and cutting. Becoming Sakaki allows Toru to be respected rather than stuffed into lockers by his peers. He plays the adult he wishes to be, or thinks he is, as a way to escape the reality where he is just a child.
