Other Media
Sakaki appears in the various adaptations and tie-ins for G.U., though in some more than others. And in some not at all, which makes my job difficult, but also opens up opportunities to make jokes about he and Haseo throwing down the dozens.
G.U.+
.hack//G.U.+ is a four-volume manga series adaptation of the three games. It is notable for being scripted by the same man who scripted the trilogy, Tatsuya Hamazaki. It is drawn by Yuzuka Morita and licensed for publication in the states by Tokyopop. The first volume was released in February 2008.
Sakaki has appeared for a few pages doing what he does best: getting in Haseo's face and ranting about PKers and PKKers. In fact, Sakaki's manga incarnation somehow manages to be more of a righteous hippie than usual. Also, he calls Haseo "Haseo-kun". I'm waiting for him to go crazy and find out if he's going to call him "Terror of Death-kun" or something thereabouts. I think that alone is worth the cover price.
Roots
Sakaki is never actually seen or heard in Roots but I feel the urge to mention it here. Tabby overhears that Haseo, the Terror of Death, and Sakaki of Moon Tree are fighting in Mac Anu's central district. She rushes to the scene but a crowd blocks her path. Now, if I remember correctly, nobody in Rebirth or G.U.+ notices their little battle of wits, except Ovan. I can only assume in Roots they had more of a throw down than the game lead us to believe. It might've gone something like this:
Haseo: Your mama's so fat she fell in love and broke it!
Sakaki: Don't you dare foul my mother like that, Terror of Death!
It's really the only explanation for why there would be such a crowd Tabby couldn't even get a peek at everybody's favorite protestor.
