Broken Branch was conceived sometime in February 2008 and finished in very early March of the same year. I realize it's a small dedication but I think it covers everything I wanted to say about Sakaki. The .hack franchise and all of its characters, names, and places are owned by Namco, Cyberconnect 2, and all related publishers, distributors, and legally associated parties.

Purpose and Reason

This site was made because I had a lot of stuff to say about Sakaki and wanted a place to say it. I also wanted to make a .hack website. The fandom is small compared to something like Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. I know it's beyond reason to hope that reading about a megalomaniac ten-year-old will get somebody to play these games but I do it anyway.

As for why I chose Sakaki... Well, he's hilarious. I know he tends to get hated for being obnoxious and causing Haseo so much trouble but that was why I liked him. It made me laugh to see him be such a nosy hippie. But if you've read through this site you probably realize I think he's much more than that. He's a child trying to be an adult, which is just so human I couldn't write him off as just hilarious or a villain.

Title

"Broken Branch" has no deep meaning and references nothing spectacular as far as I know. I was at a loss for what to call the site when I thought of it. It brings to mind Sakaki's part in Moon Tree and his decaying psyche. It also sounded more serious than "Sakaki of the Seven LOLS".

About

This is the second layout for Broken Branch and features Sakaki as he appears in the tie-in manga .hack//G.U.+. The images were scanned by me, hoorah! I was kind of disappointed to learn he doesn't turn into a raving lunatic in the manga, but I guess it's "another side" of him or something like that.
