superboyKon-El was introduced in 1993 as a clone created by Project Cadmus following the death of Superman. Artificially aged to sixteen, Kon was literally cracking jokes from the day he was born. A street-wise Hercules to the core, he's probably never thrown a punch without a witty remark along with it. But under his carefree and arrogant exterior, Kon is a teenage boy with a serious identity crisis. He was created as a replacement for Superman, yet their personalities are wildly different. His confidence was shaken even more when it was revealed that half of his DNA comes from Lex Luthor, Superman's most well known and powerful adversary.Despite these troubles, Kon is still a hero, both solo and alongside his other teenage heroes in Young Justice and the Teen Titans. Recently, Kon gave his life in Infinite Crisis, fighting against a parallel Superboy gone mad. But this is comics and we all know he'll be back, probably mouthing off along the lines off "But I had to do it before rebirths went out of style!" |
