Cloud is a kid in a lot of ways. He shuffles his feet and avoids things that frighten him, he looks at the floor when discussing something that bothers him, and he can even be shy at times. Given that he spent most of his young adult life in a big glowing tube, this isn't surprising. Cloud never really had a chance to beome an adult.
During Case of Tifa Cloud admits to Tifa that he has begun to take side delivery jobs for a little bit of money. Tifa thinks to herself that Cloud looks just like a kid, and he's acting like a little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar despite not having done anything wrong. His world is slowly growing, Cloud is beginning to make up for the years he lost in Hojo's labs.
